The easier way to mix the grout is to hand mix it using a rented 2 bag mortar mixer from any local rental yard. Pile some mortar sand behind the mixer where it is easy to shovel into the mixer. Have some bags of Portland cement to put into the mixer. Have a hose and a garbage can or a large bucket to fill up with water. Use a one gallon bucket to dip water out of the garbage can into the mixer. The grout mix should be 14 shovels of sand, 2 shovels of Portland cement, and one gallon of water.
This mixture can be slightly adjusted for hot or cold conditions. But remember that you want the mix to be dry so that you can stack it up the slopes. It is also a good idea to use tarps and sheets of plywood bittom protect the concrete decks. It is best to have one guy use a flat shovel to get the grout close to level and have a separate finisher float it flat.
You can see the finishers using the sting line to define the pool bottom. As you get closer to the bottom of the pool hole you will have to shovel the grout mix up the slopes. As you can see, the grout will need to come up on the pool wall 2 inches. It is important to clean the pool bottom of any debris before installing the liner.
Use a shop vacuum to suck up any debris. Before you can install the liner you will need to install the gaskets for the skimmer and the main bottim. Use silicon to hold these into place. Before installing the liner you must remove the duct tape from the main drains, clean them, and install the bogtom using silicone.
Read the instructions on the liner box to know where to start a liner in the pool. Poool you have that correct position you can start to fit the liner into the liner track. Make sure to find the corners of the liner and fit them as needed. The corners of the liner should be marked on the liner inside.
The manufacture will usually mark the corners with an arrow. Move along slowly fitting the liner into the liner track. Make sure to just walk on the liner in socks not shoes or boots, they may cause damage.
You will need to make a jig to hold the liner over the steps until the pool fills with Vynal pool bottom. Cut the piece of coping liner track also to the width of the inside of the steps. When you get to this part of the steps you can just put the liner into this jig to hold it up. The jig will hold the liner in place over the steps until it is time to cut the liner into the steps. This will be done later when there is some water in the pool.
Once the liner is all the way in you will need to use a vacuum to help draw the liner in tight. You can either use a liner vacuum or a large shop vacuum to do this step. Pull a small area of the liner out so that you can get the vacuum behind the liner.
Use duct tape to tape any holes that may be around this area so that you get a good seal. Turn on the vacuum so that it will suck all the excess air out from behind the liner. Pool will also need to tape off any areas that may suck excess air such as the skimmer lid, plumbing pipes, and the steps.
Then take a tarp and cover the whole area. Use duct tape to seal the area so that the vacuum can suck all the excess air from behind the liner. Use a broom to push the liner into place as the vacuum sucks out the excess air. Once the liner is in place you can start to fill it with water. When the water is about 6 inches deep you will need to cut in the main pook and install the main drain lids. Be sure to use the provided outside gaskets.
